Flow at the
gaging station Uncompahgre River near Ridgway was 457
cfs, as compared to the long-term average of 337 cfs.
Storage in Taylor Park, Crawford, and Fruitland reservoirs
totaled 85% of normal as of the end of June,

Outlook
. Basin administrators are e?<pecting a call on the
Uncompahgre River at any time,
Toward the end of June irrigators were beginning to
draw heavily on the reservoir storage. Grand Mesa
Reservoirs did not have much carry over to begin this year,
and most of the larger reservoirs on the Mesa did not fill,
which is not normal.

Administrative/Manaaement Concerns
The water commissioner for the Tomichi Creek
basin above Gunnison indicates that stream flows are as low
as she has seen them, with many priorities being shut off
that have never been curtailed before,
More repiacementwell permits are being applied for,
as well as dry holes being reported on initial drilling of new
wells,

Jul-01

Glms::t-J8QSINS\I\S HSTORl'

6-.-

,

; .

fi:-1
o

Ii;
~ ,

w
~
~,
>
~
00
~

"

.

-4 _._.__ __.'.__n __.,__ "__ .."__
JaHl2 Jln93 J>n&I JaHlS J<<>93

,.,.,..... .....

..... .....

M:lNJH1,...,.

l.I\CCM)JIJ-<<:RE RIVER r\R R100WAY, Fl.CW BY WATER 'tEAR

250,000

v .---
/
.
