OOll~~17

Objective: Develop the following three (3) analysis tools: Curtailment Analysis,
Depletion Analysis, and Point Flow Analysis

Approach:

18.l. Review SPWRMS Curtailment In this task, the scripts and processes being used
by the South Platte Water Rights Management System (SPWRMS) to perform a
curtailment/relaxation analysis will be reviewed. The SPWRMS coding will be
evaluated to determine if it should be modified to be used in the CWRA T application
or if the code should be rewritten. The CWRAT application will expand the
functionality of the scripts to allow the use of different lag/loss coefficients f()r
various 11011' conditions as well as various weather conditions.

18.2. Develop Curtailment Analysis In this task, the scripts and processes needed to
perform a cUl1ailment/relaxation analysis will be revised or rewrillcn.

18.3. Curtailment GUI In this task, the Curtailment/Relaxation Analysis GUI (similar
to figure J 8.3.1.) will be developed as a Dynamic dialog. The Curtailment Analysis
GUI will use default variables defined in the Preference GUl's. The Curtailment
Analysis GUI will provide the ability analyze the affects of call changes on the river.
Because this analysis requires knowledge of the entire river system, the analysis will
be perform on the server. The Curtailment Analysis GUI is reached via the 100ls I
Curtailment/Relaxation Analysis menu item on the main menu bar. Once the
GUI is opened, the user will select the structure and desired calls to be analyzed.
After indicating what weather conditions to consider, the user will be able to press
the Compute button to start the analysis on the server. Once the analysis is completed
the results will be transferred from the server to the client Pc. The user will have the
ability to view a list of Curtailed/Relaxed Rights (similar to figure 18.3.2.) and a
Hydrograph showing a timeline of the expected affects at the structure (similar to
figure 18.3.3.). The following are the descriptions of the elements of the GU1:
Structure drop down box: User specified calling structure.
District drop down box: User specified water district of interest.
Current Call text box: Displays the call governing the selected structure.
Valid Call Numbers list box: Tabulated water rights for the selected structure.
Selected grid obiect: Displays the selected Call numbers initially and the results
of the model once completed.
Clear Selected Calls: Clears grid object.
Weather Conditions group: This group will display the weather conditions set by
the user.
Condition drop down: Pre-defined adjustment factors
Normal:
Hot:
Cold:
Wet:
Freeze:
User Defined:
Lag coeff Adiustment (%) text box: Displays the percentage adjustment.

c :\w\crdss\scope\ph III b\scope.doc

2/19/97 - 5S
