Elbert Conduit except for ,the required release for CF&I <br />Steel Corporation which was released to lake Fork creek. <br /> <br />Turquoise lake filled and spilled for the first time on July 24, 1982. <br />The reservoir was drawn down to the top of the oonsexvation capacity <br />shortly after the initial spill and operated. at a relatively oonstant <br />elevation throughout the ranainder of t;he water year. The water year <br />ended with a oontent of 122,410 acre-fEjet in storage. <br /> <br />Table 4 and Exhibit 4 sheM the operatiqn of Turquoise lake during water <br />year 1982. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />D. HalfIroon creek Diversion <br /> <br />HalfIroon Diversion was put into operation on May 6 for the first time. <br />The operation at the structure was to pass the minimum fleM requiranent <br />or the call on Halfrroon creek, whichev$r was grea~, and divert all <br />other fleM up to the diversion capacity of 150 ft Is. There was no <br />call placed on HalfIroon during the year. All fleMS in excess of the <br />bypass requiranent were diverted. into the Mt. Elbert Conduit. Elbert Pumped-storage <br />powerplant I <br />I <br />On September 30, 1981, the lake surface elevation of Twin lakes was <br />9177.75 feet with a oontent of 88,810 acre-feet of water. Mt. Elbert <br />Forebay water surface elevation was at 9630.11 feet with a oontent of <br />7,090 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Table 5 and Exhibit 6 show Twin Lakesft'1t. Elbert Forebay operation for <br />water year 1982. , <br />I <br />During water year 1982, 101,400 acre-feet of water was released fran <br />Turquoise lake or diverted at Halfrroon Diversion through Mt. Elbert <br />Conduit to Mt. Elbert Forebay (Table 6 and Exhibit 5l.. In addition to <br />this quantity of fleM through water, 35,750 acre-feet of water was <br />pumped frcrn Twin lakes into the forebay to be available for use by the <br />Mt.
