Henceforth Game and Fish <br />will be called the Division of Wildlife, headed by Harry Woodward. The <br />Division of Parks will be headed be George O'Malley, Jr. Both divisions <br />continue to be under the general administration of the Department of <br />Natural Resources. <br /> <br />* * * * * <br /> <br />U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in an impressive ceremony on June 29 <br />dedicated the Charles H. Boustead Tunnel near Leadville with Interior <br />Secretary Rogers C. B. Morton and Senator Gordon Allott delivering the <br />principal addresses. The tunnel will deliver water diverted from the <br />upper Fryingpan to the Arkansas River. Boustead, prior to his death, <br />was manager of the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District, the <br />sponsoring agency for the project. He dedicated the last days of his life <br />in seeking support for legislation authorizing the project. <br /> <br />The dedication was picketed by representatives of many of the same <br />organizations opposing the Denver Water Board bond issue. <br /> <br />THROUGH THE WATER METER <br /> <br />Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved an application by <br /> <br />Colorado-Ute to build a 250,000-kilowatt steam power generating station <br /> <br />near Hayden, Colorado. The plant is estimated to cost about $89 million <br /> <br />. Retired Bureau of Reclamation engineer Robert H. Tyner of Durango <br /> <br />has been named to fill the newly created post of manager of the South- <br /> <br />western Water Conservation District, according to an announcement by <br /> <br />district vice president Fred Kroeger of Durango . <br /> <br />. Bureau of Recla- <br /> <br />mation awarded a $36,252,769 contract to Green Construction Co., of Des <br /> <br />Moines, Iowa and to Massman Construction Co., of Kansas City to build <br /> <br />the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project's Pueblo Dam and Reservoir on the Arkansas <br /> <br />River above Pueblo. The contract letting was announced by Senators <br /> <br />Gordon Allott and Peter Dominick of Colorado <br /> <br />. Interior Secretary <br /> <br />N <br />-..1 <br />~ <br />K <br /> <br />Rogers C. B. Morton estimates that fuel from oil shale will be on the <br /> <br />market by 1982 . <br /> <br />.
