COLORAOO <br /> <br />REPon OF THll ELECTRIC POilER FACILITmS OF THE ARKANSAS <br />RIVER BASIN IN COLORADO AND WESTERN KANSAS <br /> <br />This survey and report is made for the purpose of determining <br /> <br />the electric power facilities of the utilities in the Arkansas Valley <br /> <br />Drainage basin in the state of Colorado, and also in that portion of the <br /> <br />drainage area lying in the state of Kansas west of, but not including, <br /> <br />Dodge Cit-.f. The report sets forth the dependable capacity of each plant, <br /> <br />generating electric energy, the reserve capacity of each plant, the net <br /> <br />assured capacity of each plant, the net peaks for 1941, and the kilowatt- <br /> <br />hour load dispensed to ultimate consumers, as well as the nature of the <br /> <br />prime movers in each utility. <br /> <br />The basic infol"mation for the survey and report vms obtained <br /> <br />from the reports filed by the utilities with the Federal Power Commission <br /> <br />and wi th the State Utilities Corrunission, and from the records of the Colo- <br /> <br />rado Water Conservation Board, "nd directly from the utilities in the area <br /> <br />covered by the report, so far as the state of Colorado is concerned. <br /> <br />The information for the utilities operated in that portion of <br /> <br />the state of Kansas, described above, was obtained from the State Cor- <br /> <br />poration Commission of the state of Kansas with headquarters at Topeka, <br /> <br />Kansas. <br /> <br />These are set forth in detail in Table A which follows, in which <br /> <br />table it will be noted that in many instances the utilities in their re- <br /> <br />turns have indicated that the kwh. loads, that is, the kwh. sold, in 1941 <br /> <br />are the Same as the kwh. generated, which means that the kwh. loads <br /> <br />(sales) have been made at the station switchboard. <br />
