These weekly <br />schedules of deliveries to I-iexico are Elade up of estimated return <br />flm-Is froEl projects in the Yllina area, releases froEl Imperial Dam <br />for sluicing silt mlay from the settling basins and river regulation, <br />and additional releases required from upstreffin storage. The releases <br />from upstreffiTI storage are held to the minimum necessary for the sum <br />of all deliveries to meet the United States' commitments for water <br />delivery pursuant to the ]I;]exican Water Treaty and the r'Iinutes of the <br />International Boundary and ilater Commission, and includes an annual <br />sum of 315 acre-feet of overdelivery to make sure ]l;Iexico receives its <br />total order. As can be seen from Table 4, river operations in the <br />past few years have successfully limited the amount of excess water <br />delivered to Mexico. <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
