<br />1993 ANNUAL RlIPORT <br /> <br />o <br />-.:l <br />1'':1 <br />Ul <br /> <br />Uinta Basin Unit. The Council is pleased that the Secretary of the Interior formally <br />submitted the completed planning report and final environmental impact statement on Stage I of <br />the Uinta Basin Unit to the Office of Management and Budget for advice and approval. The <br />Council recommends that Interior renew.and increase its efforts. to obtain authorization to <br />construct the unit. <br /> <br />San Juan River - Hammond Unit. The Council recommends that Reclamation issue the <br />Definite Plan Report/EA for this unit and urges Reclamation to seek authorization to construct <br />the project. The Council looks forward to receipt of the planning report and environmental <br />assessment. <br /> <br />Price-San Rafael Rivers Unit. The Council urges completion of the final EIS. The <br />Council urges cooperative effort between Reclamation, the Agricultural Stabilization and <br />Conservation Service (ASCS), SCS, FWS, and EPA to finalize the Planning ReportlEIS and <br />seek authorization for the Reclamation portion of the joint project. The Council also <br />recommends that USDA, in coordination with State of Utah and the Forum, develop a mutually <br />acceptable means of handling the depletion charge required under the provisions of the Upper <br />Colorado River Basin Endangered Fish Species Recovery Implementation Program. <br /> <br />Dolores Proiect. The Council is pleased with the completion of Reach 1 and 2 of the <br />Towaoc Canal and that construction has begun on the other salinity control features associated <br />with the Dolores Project. The Council urges Reclamation to aggressively seek sufficient funding <br />to complete all of the salinity features of the project in 1994. <br /> <br />Glenwood-Dotsero Springs Unit. The Council urges Reclamation to continue to work <br />with the private sector to develop a feasible salinity control project for the removal of salt from <br />the saline springs around Glenwood Springs, Colorado. <br /> <br />COWRADO RlVER BASIN SAUNITY CONTROL ADVISORY COUNCIL <br /> <br />6 <br />
