The schedule was updated to reflect the changes in the dates and <br />locations of the August and September Board meetings. <br /> <br />Board Membership <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder is an announcement from Governor Wilson's office, dated <br />July 22nd, appointing Mr. John V. Foley to the Board representing the Metropolitan Water District <br />of Southern California and Mr. S. David Freeman and Gerald A. Gewe, as representatives of the <br />City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Mr. Gewe has been designated as <br />Mr. Freeman's alternate. <br /> <br />PROTECTION OF EXISTING RIGHTS <br /> <br />Colorado River Water Reoort <br /> <br />During June 1998, storage in the major Upper Basin reservoirs increased by 1,452,000 <br />acre-feet and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs decreased by 68,000 acre-feet. Total System <br />active storage at the end of June was 56.621 million acre-feet (mat) or 95 percent of capacity, which <br />is 1.417 maf more than one year ago. <br /> <br />July releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 18,230, 17,910 and <br />14,440 cubic feet per second (cfs), respectively. Planned releases from those three dams for the <br />month of August are 13,580, 14,850 and 14,830 cfs, respectively. The July releases represent those <br />needed to meet downstream water requirements. <br /> <br />The August 13'" measurement of April through July 1998 unregulated inflow into Lake <br />Powell was 8.625 maf, which is 112 percent of the 30-year average for the period 1961-1990. The <br />unregulated inflow into Lake Powell for the 1997-98 water year is predicted to be 13.671 maf, or 117 <br />percent of the 30-year average. <br /> <br />The Lower Division states' estimated consumptive use of Colorado River water for calendar <br />year 1998, as estimated by Board staff on August 5"', totals 8.083 maf and is projected as follows: <br />Arizona, 2.836 maf; California, 4.996 maf; and, Nevada, 0.251 maf. Estimated additional <br />unmeasured return flow credits of 0.236 maf would reduce the total amount to 7.847 maf.
