<br />C <br />Q <br />P- <br />y <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />~rnEREAS, there is pending before the United States Con- <br />gress, certain Acts which would authorize the construction of the <br />Colorado River Basin project, which is largely the Central Ari- <br />zona Project; and <br /> <br />~rnEREAS, the State of Arizona has, in times past, sup- <br />ported legislation authorizing the construction of projects in <br />the Upper Basin of the Colorado River, including those in Colo- <br />rado; and <br /> <br />~ffiEREAS, full beneficial utilization of the waters of <br />the Colorado River allocated to each basin of the river and to <br />the states in each basin is a common and desirable aim of all of <br />the states dependent upon such river; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all such states recognize the eventual necessity <br />of augmenting the waters of the Colorado River from sources out- <br />side the basin; and <br /> <br />IVHEREAS, differences of opinion have arisen between <br />the various states in the Colorado River Basin as to the protec- <br />tions necessary in such enabling legislation to assure to all <br />the states their fair and equitable share of the waters of such <br />river; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board and its <br />staff have prepared certain protective measures for the benefit <br />of the Upper Basin States. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Colorado River <br />Water Conservation District by and through its Board of Directors <br />at its regular meeting in Glenwood springs, Colorado, on this <br />18th day of January, 1966, as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the State of Colorado and the various water <br />conservancy and conservation districts support in Congress the <br />passage of the Colorado River Basin Project. <br /> <br />2. That representatives of Colorado require inclusion <br />of features in such authorizing legislation which will adequately <br />protect the State of Colorado in its beneficial consumptive use <br />of its share of the Colorado River. <br /> <br />1951 <br />
