<br />l1'ib <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir's oontent on September 30, 1976, <br />This water was owned as follows: COlorado Canal, <br />the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project, 32-,168 acre-feet. <br /> <br />was 36,350 a.cre-feet. <br />4,182 acre-feet and <br /> <br />The second year of the Winter Water Storage's trial Program was begun <br />November 13, 1976. Under this program, which is mutually agreed upon by <br />irrigators downstream from Pueblo Dam, direct flow right water which in <br />the past had been used to irrigate during the' winter is stored for use <br />in the crop growing season. Under this year's program, water stored in <br />Pueblo Reservoir was apportioned to all ditches participating on the <br />basis of a percentage (1/2) of the water they muld have received during <br />the period had they run in priority under direct flow rights. The 1976- <br />1977 storage period was from November 13 to the end of February 1977. A <br />total of 35,768 acre-feet was stored in Pueblo Reservoir under the <br />program. <br /> <br />Twin lakes water stored in Pueblo Reservoir as a result of construction <br />at Twin lakes was delivered to the COlorado Canal in June and July. <br /> <br />Several entities had contracts for storage of water in Pueblo Reservoir. <br />An agreerrent was nade with COlorado Springs to catch any water in Pueblo <br />Reservoir that they missed at their Trout creek pumping station. This <br />water was later exchanged back to Turquoise Lake. Nurrerous exchanges <br />were nade with other entities to transfer Project water from Pueblo <br />Reservoir to Twin Lakes and Turquoise Lake. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir content on September 30, 1977, was 34,296 acre-feet. <br />This water was owned as follows: Besserrer Ditch, 41 acre-feet and <br />Fryingpan-Arkansas Project, 34,255 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Table 3 and Exhibit 7 show the operation of Pueblo Reservoir during <br />water year 1977. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Twin Lakes <br /> <br />Under present plans, the Project will not operate Twin Lakes Dam until <br />construction of the new darn is at or near oompletion. However, the <br />Project is accumulating ownership of water in Twin lakes by exchange <br />with other entities to provide water for testing the Mt. Elbert Pultped- <br />Storage Por.Nerplant. <br /> <br />Twin Lakes content on September 30, 1977, was 28,184 acre-feet of which <br />9,602 acre-feet were owned by the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />6 <br />
