Dear !.lr. Hind e:rl1der:

I sm handin,; you herewith, take off of record as nearly
as I can get at it at this tilll8, from.Aprll 13th to 18th, both inclusiv~.
Can not get any iIlforuation from Caddoa before Monday, on in-flow for
tOday, reservoir t:alle hei:;:b.th tClday, or actual disoharl:;e for today, but
they advised lIe last evenin:;, upon my return from Holly, that at 9AM
Saturday, they lowered the e;Cite .40, or down to 3.60, then measured and
still had a disohar::;e of 703 sr, so then lowere~l it to 3.40, but did not
measure at:ain, but estimated d1sohar:;e now to bs 6.508F in keepi~ with
you request of Saturday morning to them.

Heizer and I got to Eclly E.t 1.30 PM on Saturday, went direct
to river, feeli~ that it was more inportant, but just as we started to
measure, developed meter trouble and was delayed almeo two hours, which
made us so late by. the t illl8 we got the river proper, Wild Horse Cre~ and
Holly Drain, and'B;ot back here to La1l5.I', that Heizer took the notes and
'Went on back to Rocky Ford before ext endiIll the fie;ures, eo could oot
wire results last nie;ht. Ie had a GH of 3.10 OD the river all durin:; our
l118asuring and it was st ill the same this IIOrnin:; and it was tl::e salle
Friday morni~ and that day when lyestone, at which time he measured
33881 .

Down at the Holly Drain, we sure had a mess, i'1 fact so bad
that the Army boys had passed it up the day before, but we got it measured
with a GR of 8.34. By going to the said Holly Drain and t akin:: a look,
gives one a better picture of w.llat tb.e canH.ls and all of us have been up
against in t ryiIl6 to keep thin:; s movin:; azld f!!lt a check on this wat er.
There tons and tons of weeds piled up, both above and below railroad,
!IOstly above with water out over the bottom north of tb.e railroad for
OTer a half mile, which have been kicked out by til e canals inth eir
fight to keep running and carried on ci.cwn by the liolly Drain and Cheyenne
Creek and piled up a:;ainst the railroad bridt; e, backing up tb.e wat er,
then as they were forced throu:;h under the bridge and drifted on down,
were a,gain a,'parently checked by the frontier dall and again backed up
below the railroad.

I fe:el sure that we have mne than e;ott en Kansas their 230
second feet of ws:t er, as request ed, but if the lansas boys would let us
know so~thing about their measurements, and what they have been getting
in dischar&es by said measurement s, it seems to me that it would be of
a :;reat assistance to all of us in tb.is matter. But I have not received
any inforuation from them, or ev~m a call and saw no sij;ns on any of the
charts tha:tltj1eyhad beenabov.~nCQ.olide;e._ _ _ _
