(Formal mi nutes of thi s meet i ng wi 11 be submi tted at a
later date.)

l'lr. Valantine requested that PSIAC submit a letter to the Regional
Forester, Intermountain Region, containing a restatement of support for
the vegetative management for increased water yield program, and a
criticism of the draft regional plan because of insufficient attention to
vegetative management. The Executive Subcommittee passed a motion to send this
recommendation to the parent committee. The Subcommittee passed a second
motion recommending that PSIAC authorize member states and agencies to
present the PSIAC position at public hearings on regional and forest
plans.

Regarding the USBR weather modification program, the Executive
Subcommittee passed a motion recommending that PSIAC send a letter of
support to Commissioner Broadbent. It was also strongly urged that
states that had not sent similar letters to the new Administration do
so. Mr. Valantine will contact the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control
Forum and request their support for this program.

Environmental and Recreation Subcommittee: No work plan was
presented to the Executive Subcommittee, and no representative of the
Environmental and Recreation Subcommittee was present at the meeting.

B-7

,,,-. ,,-

il,...
