OfHi~99

c. Ski Trails

All action alternatives would expand the existing lift-served ski terrain, as
indicated in Table 8-6 above. In Alternative B, this expansion would be limited
to Baldy Mountain; that on Burnt Mountain would vary by alternative! as described
above in Table 8-7.

Table S-7; Ski Terrainl by Type and Alternative (acres)
Alternative
A B E F G H
Trail Tvoe ~ New Total New Total New Total New !Q!!! In Alternatives E-H, there would be a minor increase in the size of the
system due to the development of new trails on private land in the East Village
area.

d. Snowmaking

Expansion in snowmaking coverage and replacement of the existing portable
snowmaking equipment with a modern, state-of-the-art system would occur in all
action alternatives, In Alternative B, snowmaking on Baldy Mountain would be
expanded by approximately 180 acres, according to two priorities for coverage
(November 22 and December 30). In Alternatives E and G, snowmaking would
increase by approximately 300 acres to provide expanded coverage on Baldy
Mountain and new coverage for an East Village access lift and Burnt Mountain
gondola, In ~lternative F, there would be 20 fewer acres of snowmaking due to
fewer access t~ails to East Village to be covered. Total snowmaking coverage in
Alternative H, while including East Village trails, would be less than in
Alternatives E-G due to reduced coverage on most trails.

Summary . 19

Snowmaking co~erage in Alternatives E-H would be categorized according to the
same two priorities as in Alternative B, with a third, date-unspecified coverage
priority for the East Village lift trails,
