A t some of the stations, it was not possible to obtain evaporation records throughout the winter period.

The measurements of evaporation were made In accordance with standard practice for the type of pan in use. Measurements of
precipitation were mc:de in standard 8-inch rain gages, which were supplemented at some of the stations by recording rain gages.

Records for the evaporation stations at the State University, Elephant Butte Dam, and EI Vado Dam antedated the creation of the
Commission; the stations at Abiquiu Dam, Cochiti Dam, and Jemez Canyon Dam were established by the Corps of Engineers. All
others were esfablished at the request of the Commission.

The Rio Grande Compact Commission gratefully acknowledges the cooperation of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and US. Bureau of Reclamation for furnishing the climatological records contained in
this report.

Alamosa Airport.-Lat 37027', long 105052', in Alamosa County at airport near Alamosa, Colo.
