<br />Lcx;ation.-Water-stage recorder, lat 36034'48", long 106043'24", in Tima Amarilla Grant, on left bank 1.5 miles downstream from El
<br />Vado Dam, 2.8 miles upstream from Rio Nutrias, and 13 miles southwest of Tierra Amarilla. Datum of gage is 6,696.12 ft above mean
<br />sea level. datum of 1929. Prior to October 1935, at site 1.5 miles upstream and October 1935 to September 1938, at site 1.1 miles upstream
<br />at different datums.
<br />Draina~e area.-877 sq mi of which about 100 sq mi is probably noncontributing.
<br />Avera.. discharee.-4 years (1914, 1921,23), 444 ftl/s (321,700 acre-ft per year) prior to completion of EI Vado Dam; 35 years (1936-70),
