<br />Development of the DSEIS will rely in large
<br />part on the use of existing data and analyses that
<br />provide engineering, economic, and environ-
<br />mental informatibn for many of the alternatives.
<br />Preparation of the DSEIS will be a cooperative
<br />effort among federal and state agencies and the
<br />two Colorado Ute Tribes, the Southern Ute
<br />Indian and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribes.

<br />December 1999, with public hearings to be
<br />held in January 2000. A Final SEIS will be .

<br />issued in June 2000.. Future issues of this
<br />newsletter will report on the progress of the
<br />SEIS preparation process.

<br />agencies, as well as interested

<br />Supplemental EIS: An EIS which
<br />supplements an earlier EIS when
<br />there are significant new circum-
<br />stances or information
<br />relevant to environmental
