We are now in the afternoon <br /> <br />3 session of the public hearing on the Savery-pot Hook project. <br /> <br />4 We have announced previously in making available the draft <br /> <br />5 environmental impact statement that these hearings would continue <br /> <br />6 until 4:00 p.m. and although as it would now appear, there may <br /> <br />. <br />7 not be sufficient persons still interested in testifying to make <br /> <br />8 it necessary to stay open until that time, we do intend to be <br /> <br />9 here until 4:00 to make sure that everybody who wishes to testify <br /> <br />10 has that opportunity. Some statements were heard this morning <br /> <br />11 relating to the geology of the area and particularly that which <br /> <br />12 might relate to the possibility of coal deposits, and during the <br /> <br />:.-,:'\,....1 <br /> <br />13 noon recess I was advised that some studies in connection with <br /> <br />14 mineral deposits in the areas to be occupied by the proposed <br /> <br />15 reservoirs for the project have been concluded by the United <br /> <br />16 States Geological Survey. It may be that some of you would be <br /> <br />17 interested in obtaining those studies, and so this is to advise <br /> <br />18 the preliminary geologic maps of the Tullis quadrangle, Carbon <br /> <br />19 County. Wyoming, which are identified as U. S. G. S. open file <br /> <br />20 reports 76-794 and which are comprised of three sheets, are <br /> <br />21 available at the U. S. G. S. office in the new Customs House in <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />Denver, Colorado. <br /> <br />There may be some of you who previously <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />expressed an interest in this matter who might like to obtain <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />those, and there is a gentleman from the Geological Survey here <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />25 <br />present with whom you may wish to consult at some time during <br />
