The Conservancy District comments

6 at this time will be brief and will be addressed only to a few

7 specific points covered in the Draft Environmental Statement now

8 under consideration. We ask that any time remaining at the close

9 of these remarks be allowed to us for informal comments. at the

10 end of the scheduled testimony today. Our suggested comments on

II the statement are as follows: Number one. on page A-24, Para-

12 graph 1, section 3, the words "on project lands" should be change:1

,-

13 to read "on full service project lands". This distinction betwee~;;;;,,,

14 full service and supplemental service lands was one of the points

15 that was carefully worked out between the state of Wyoming and

16 the Conservancy District and for the benefit of the persons here

17 present, this has to do with the possibility of providing materia s

18 to fence hay storage areas on the new lands brought under irri-

19 gation by the project. Second item. on page A-24, first para-

20

graph, and H-18, last paragrapb, and H-19, first paragraph,

21

reference is made to land acquisition of some 16,000 acres for

22

wildlife mitigation as an alternative to crop storage area fencin

23

The conservancy District feels these references should not be

24

included in the final statement because negotiations between our

25

District and the wy.oming Game and Fish Commission have foreclosed
