Box 11568
Salt Lake City, UT 84147

Dear Cliff:

By letter dated December 31, 1981, you invited the state to
comment on the proposed Dominguez Reservoir project. At its
February 5th meeting in Grand Junction, the Board reviewed the
results of the feasibility study and heard comments from several
interested parties.

The Board would like to indicate to the Bureau its continu-
ing interest in the project. Although the 80ard has not decided
whether to seek authorization for the project, it urges the
Bureau to recommend that planning be continued on the M&I water
supply formulation of the project in order to complete a
feasibility level study on that alternative.

The Board will be seeking support from the Colorado congres-
sional delegation for a FY 83 write-in appropriation for continu-
ing planning. In this regard, I would appreciate it if you could
advise on the Bureau's capability to proceed with planning the
next fiscal year.

Finally, pleased be advised that the Board staff is in the
process of preparing detailed comments on the Draft Feasibility
Report and Advance Draft EIS (December, 1981). I expect to
forward these to you within two or three weeks.

Disk No. 201
let/jwm (barrett) 1

Robert A. Jackson. Chairman. John R.
