We have the following comments to offer on the water
quality aspects of the proposal.

I

There are no lakes or permanent streams in the proposed area.
However, runoff from precipitation will find its way into drain-
ages leading to the Colorado River located a few miles north of
. the area. It is important that the visitors using the trails be
aware that litter of any kind may find its way into the Colorado
River thereby causing water quality degradation. We recommend
that signs be located at all trail heads stating the importance
of protecting the environment from litter and other human waste.
We also recommend that sanitary facilities be provided along the
longer trails to help prevent the use of the proposed wilderness
area from contributing to the degradation of the Colorado River.

Sincerely,

/ Llildl

B.
