~".I
(:' )
N
(;:.
""'"
(;)

.

.

The Colorado River Management Plan has been developed to provide a
strategy for protecting the Grand Canyon environment while providing
visitors with a high quality river running experience.
The plan is divided into two components: the Colorado River Management
Plan and the: Annual Operating Requirements. The river management plan
presents the'general concepts which will guide river management for a five
to ten year period. The Annual Operating Requirements contain information
subject to change on an annual basis and a detailed description of procedures
for compliance with the plan. Various elements in the Colorado River Manage~
ment Plan are' cross~referenced to more detailed information in the Annual
Operating Req~irements (AOR). These two components complement each other
and are inten~ed to be used together for a full understanding of the Colorado
River Management Plan.
Both motqr and oar trips will be available under this plan. Various
combinations Qf motor and oar trips are identified in this draft plan for
review and comment.
