Presently, we have two
cooperators for the subsurface drainage project and we will have
estimates and can hopefully contract for the material in
installation before June 20. I ~ave contacted the University and
was told I could contract with the NEPSCD for approval and final
payment of the subsurface drainage. CSU would make payment to
the SCD based on contracts between the cooperator and the SCD and
this would allow us to complete the drainage projects at a later
date, after June 30.

I have been given liquid PAM for the reduction of ditch seepage
demonstration on the Biles Lateral east of Cory Thompson's home.
Also, many of the water and soil analysis as well as the salinity
mapping are being done with CSU or USDA-ARS personnel at no cost.
As a result, I am asking for approval to transfer funding for the
PAM, salinity mapping and soil and water testing to general use.
This would include cost for personnel hired
through Otero County, additional travel expenses,
cellular phone, photographic supplies and
educational meetings. This would allow me to
spend the money within my organization then to
obtain the information needed for completion of
the demonstrations through the 2000 crop year
using my CSU budget beyond June 30.

:~

1?~~

Colorado State University.
