<br />CHAPTER 2 <br /> <br />Information Gathering <br /> <br />Duchesne River Basin USGS Flow Data <br /> <br />The USGS flow data was retrieved using Hydrosphere's database software. The <br />Hydrosphere product provided access to data contained in the USGS W A TSTORE Daily <br />Values files for the state of Utah, The most recent version of Hydrosphere available was <br />used. It contained daily records through 1995 for most gauges. The daily data could then <br />be manipulated into monthly averages, monthly volumes, or any other desirable form. The <br />full data for the Randlett and My ton gauges on the Duchesne River are included in the <br />Appendices. <br /> <br />USSR Pre-Development Flows <br /> <br />An analysis of the Duchesne River has been performed by the United States Bureau of <br />Reclamation (USBR) to determine "Pre-Development Flows" of the Colorado River Basin. <br />These flows were developed by the USBR for the whole Colorado River Basin in an attempt <br />to develop virgin river flows. USBR Pre-Development flows were obtained from the USBR <br />and included monthly flow data for the Duchesne River at Randlett for the period from <br />1906-1990, These flows and their development are described in Chapter 5 of this report. <br />The complete flows as received from the USBR are included in the Appendices, <br /> <br />USFWS Flow Recommendations <br /> <br />The USFWS flow recommendations are summarized in letters dated January 23, 1995 and <br />March 9,1995. These letters are included in the Appendices, In addition, the USFWS as <br />part of this study effort presented further data on the flow recommendations, including <br />tables and charts on the flow recommendations, and a letter dated August 7, 1996 that gives <br />a chronology on the development of the USFWS flow recommendations. These are also <br />included in the Appendices. <br /> <br />Agency Operating Data <br /> <br />Agency operation data were obtained from the Provo River Water Users Association <br />(PRWUA), CUWCD, Moon Lake Water Users Association (MLWUA), and Strawberry <br />Water Users Association (SWUA). Data from the CUWCD on the Bonneville Unit operation <br />are described in Chapter 6 of this report, Data from these agencies are included in the <br />Appendices of this report. <br /> <br />SLC\134107\REPT1,DOC <br /> <br />2 -1 <br />
