Environmental Protection Agency and to continue to <br />discuss options for moving forward, <br /> <br />After hearing presentations on the purposes, needs, and costs of the project, on how power <br />revenues are assigned to the project, and on selenium water quality issues in the San Juan River <br />Basin, the Proponents team and the Citizens' Coalition team were asked when they could produce <br />a "structural" and a "non-structural" alternative (respectively) for review and evaluation by the <br />Full Group, No specific answer was forthcoming by either side to this question. As a result, the <br />following outlines the status of these discussions. <br /> <br />1. Meetilll!:s are Put on "Hold" <br /> <br />a. The "Romer/Schoettler" process meetings are to be put "on-hold" until both the <br />Citizens' Coalition team and the Proponents team can submit a date by which they <br />can produce alternatives to the Animas'-La Plata project. <br /> <br />b., As a result, there will be NO meeting on April n,,1997. <br /> <br />c, <br /> <br />Any future meetings of this process will be announced, <br /> <br />{,- <br /> <br />II, Deadline for Alternatives <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />a, The Citizens' Coalition team is to submit a date - within the next 3 D-days (or April <br />7, 1997) - by which it can produce a conceptual "non-structural" alternative to the <br />Animas-La Plata project <br /> <br />" <br />-,'.!,; <br /> <br />b, The Proponents team is to submit a date - within the next 3D-days (or April 7, <br />1997) - by which it can produce a conceptual "structural" alternative to the <br />Animas-La Plata project <br /> <br />c. The Citizens' Coalition indicated that they have sent the attached letter to US, <br />Department of the Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt requesting resources for their <br />team to produce a "non-structural" alternative, <br />
