tJ:) .... ::'\! c Animas-La Plata Discussions Meeting Notes and Process Issues March 6, 1997 Iron Horse Inn Durango, Colorado Representatives of all teams met in Durango to receive infonnation about the project from the U,S, Bureau of Reclamation and the U,S. Environmental Protection Agency and to continue to discuss options for moving forward, After hearing presentations on the purposes, needs, and costs of the project, on how power revenues are assigned to the project, and on selenium water quality issues in the San Juan River Basin, the Proponents team and the Citizens' Coalition team were asked when they could produce a "structural" and a "non-structural" alternative (respectively) for review and evaluation by the Full Group, No specific answer was forthcoming by either side to this question. As a result, the following outlines the status of these discussions. 1. Meetilll!:s are Put on "Hold" a. The "Romer/Schoettler" process meetings are to be put "on-hold" until both the Citizens' Coalition team and the Proponents team can submit a date by which they can produce alternatives to the Animas'-La Plata project. b., As a result, there will be NO meeting on April n,,1997. c, Any future meetings of this process will be announced, {,- II, Deadline for Alternatives ~ a, The Citizens' Coalition team is to submit a date - within the next 3 D-days (or April 7, 1997) - by which it can produce a conceptual "non-structural" alternative to the Animas-La Plata project " -,'.!,; b, The Proponents team is to submit a date - within the next 3D-days (or April 7, 1997) - by which it can produce a conceptual "structural" alternative to the Animas-La Plata project c.
