<br />Mr, Al Gabiola <br />July 9, 1982 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Given the capability of the project to firm the <br />available energy, it would be significantly better if the <br />CRSP would market the available energy from the average <br />water supply, It is recognized that this would eventually <br />lead to slightly higher composite costs for kilowatt hours. <br />However, the cost figures that you must pay to firm up the <br />energy is less expensive than those we pay to the Salt <br />River Project for the balance of our energy. <br /> <br />4). Consolidation of the CRSP with the Rio Grande <br />project, the Provo River Project and the <br />Collran Project. <br /> <br />from the data presented, it is hard to make any <br />intelligent comments as to its desirability. <br /> <br />The two specific questions that arise are: <br />1). What impacts would the consolidation have on the <br />CRSP rates a!:'ld, <br />2). Would the consolidation of these projects provide <br />any additional power and e!:'lergy due to diversity, <br /> <br />We request that the above information be provided to <br />us as soon as it is practical so that we can respond <br />intelligently. <br /> <br />5). 1'Iarketing "rea <br /> <br />I believe it is safe to say that any changes in the <br />marketi!:'lg area would meet considerable opposition. The <br />resource available to the existing marketing area are <br />insufficient to serve the totality of the needs in that <br />area. Any additional resources that might be derived can be <br />easily absorbed i~ the existing area. <br /> <br />Eliminating portions of the area would create <br />significant hardships on those portions who had developed a <br />economy based on the contracts that have been held with the <br />WAPA. <br /> <br />6).
