PRE F ACE

The following letters were submitted to the Western Area Power Adminis-
tration to provide assistance in the development of a proposed power
marketing plan for the period beyond 1989 for resources in the Salt Lake
City Area. In addition to the letters included in this booklet, we have
received over 1100 letters from individual consumers. Their comments,
while varying widely, may be accurately characterized, for the most part,
as indicating concern that the consumer's supplier may experience a re-
duction in its supply of federally-generated power leading to significant
and unacceptable increases in the cost of power. These letters addressing
individual concerns rather than the variables of a proposed plan have not
been included in this booklet because of the printing costs involved.

.

All letters received will be given consideration in the development of the

post 1989 power marketing plan. They will be maintained as a part of the

formal record in these proceedings and are available for inspection and/or

reproduction, in accordance with Western's policies at the Salt Lake City

Area Office.
