To locate these sport
fish, biologists ....ill use a fish species inventory of the Gunnison that showed the times of year
when these fish are concentrated in certain areas. Biologists will capture the fish using trammel
nets, trap-nets and "electro-fishing" - a technique that involves running an electrical current
through the water to temporarily stun the fish and bring them to the surface. The non-native fish
will be removed from the river alive then transported to other waters for sport-fishing purposes.
This spring, six northern pike were captured and transported to Harvey Gap Reservoir.

Action:

Additional field studies to be conducted on experimental removal of non-native
sport fish that prey on endangered fish.
