INTRODUCTION

The city of Lakewood (Lakewood) plans to construct the Fox Hollow
at Lakewood Golf Course within Bear Creek Lake Park as shown in
Figure 1. The 27-hole course is situated on the northside of Bear
Creek above and below the pioneer Union Ditch and on the southside
of Bear Creek for a total of approximately 180 acres of irrigated
land. The primary direct-flow water supply for irrigation of the
golf course consists of the Pioneer union Ditch and Hodgson Ditch
water rights owned and leased by Lakewood. The scope of this
report is limited to the analysis of water rights ,"subject water
rights", owned by Lakewood in these ditches that are to be used for
irrigation of the golf course area lying above, the pioneer Union
Ditch and South of Bear Creek. The results of this water rights
study are in support of Lakewood's application in Case No. 90-CW-
185, Water Division 1.

This report describes the sUbject water rights, their proposed use,
and an enqineering analysis to support the water right changes for
the proposed use,

1

~ Leonard Rice CoIIsulling Wale!
