Confirm findings of previous studies that <br />substantial quantities of acceptable quality might <br />be susceptible to salvage through a plan of <br />selective pumping. The report concluded that the <br />findings merit a feasibility investigation. <br /> <br />5. Feasibility Investiqation - Closed Basin Division <br /> <br />San Luis Valley project <br /> <br />a. Sponsoring Agency - Bureau of Reclamation. Under terms <br /> <br /> <br />of an agreement between the State and the Bureau, the <br /> <br /> <br />State (Colorado Water Conservation Board) contributed <br /> <br /> <br />funds toward the cost of the feasibility <br /> <br /> <br />investigation. Also the Board assigned a Staff <br /> <br /> <br />Engineer to the San Luis Valley full-time to assist the <br /> <br /> <br />Bureau in the conduct of the investigations. <br /> <br />b. Partial Draft of Feasibility Report issued in January <br />1960. <br /> <br />c. Objective of Partial Draft Report <br /> <br />(1) See~ State and local interests, views or proposals <br />advanced in 1956 Reconnaissance Report. <br />
