SUMMARY

The plan provides for extending the existing rural domestic water
systems by installing approximately 16l miles of new pipeline, 858 meter
assemblies, and 9 storage tanks.

To provide water deliveries to the point of historic use, distribu-
tion features will be installed downstream of the meter installations on
private property. These on-farm features would consist of approximstely
212 miles of small diameter pipeline and 2,061 stock tanks. No additional
water treatment features will be required because the stockwater demands
would be made on the system during off-peak months.

Estimated costs

The total conatruction cost for the winter water replacement program
is estimated at $27,636,000, based on January 1986 prices. Construction
costs are summarized in Table .S-l.

Table S-l
Project construction cos~1
Description
Modifications to the domestic systems
Tri-County syste~1
Menoken system
Chipeta system
Subtotal

On-farm systems
Tri-County system 7,000,000
Menoken system 2,000,000
Chipeta system 2,800,000
Subtotal 11,ROO,OOO

Total 27,636,000
11 January 1986 prices; contains 20 percent con-
tingencies and 35 percent other project costs.
21 Tri-County costs include $236,000 of minor
modifIcations to the Project 7 Water Authority. Preparation of specifications and construction
of the on-farm features would be accomplished under contract with the
UVWUA.

001703

S-3
