CD
C\!
i:"-
N

SUMMARY SHEETS (Continued)

when the reservoir supply would be too low to meet demands. Water would
also be released to West Divide Creek for rediversion to existing ditches
and municipal water would be made avaliable from a turnout in the outlet
works.

Sprinkler irrigation would be used on most of the project lands from East
Ma~n to Cottonwood Creeks where the drop in elevation from the canals to
the lands would be sufficient to provide pressure in pipe laterals.
Turnouts for surface gravity irrigation would be provided where suffi-
cient pressure could not be developed for sprinkler irrigation. Lands
east of East Mamm Creek and west of Cottonwood Creek would be irrigated
by existing ditches.

Recreation facilities would be located at Dry Hollow and Kendig Reser-
voirs. The reservoirs ~'ould provide new flatwater fisheries, and their
inactive capacities would provide adequate habitat to ensure over-
wintering of game fish. A rainbow trout fishery at Kendig and a com-
bination trout-warm water fishery at Dry Hollow would be developed. A
wildlife area would be developed close to Kendig. New waterfowl habitat
and additional pheasant and small game habitat would increase small game
hunting opportunities.

WATER SUPPLY

Project supply (average acre-feet annually)
Irrigation
Municipal Use
Total
Effects on Colorado River (annual average)
Stream depletion (acre-feet)
Increase in salt load (tons)
Increase in salinity concentration at
Imperial Dam (mg/L)
From concentrating effects of
stream depletion
From increase in salt load

60,700
3,500
64,200

38,200
8,700

4.7
.9

IRRIGATION SERVICE AREA (acres)

Full service land
Supplemental service land
Total

Surface
irrigation
3,610
10,580
14,190

Sprinkler
irrigation
6,840
4,140
10,980

Total
10,450
14,720
25,170

2
