.

.

.'

credited first to the storage accounts up to the maximum and
then to the evaporation loss accounts. Under this assumption.
releases to the river will be made from the storage accounts
and evaporation losses will be made first from the evaporation
loss accounts and then from the storage account. Evaporation
losses will be computed based on the percentage of the total
reservoir contents allocated to each entity.

[Alternative starting conditions would be to start the
water year with both full storage and evaporation, accounts. or
with all accounts empty.]

Evaporation Loss Rates

The Division 1 Water Court approved the following average
net evaporation rates in Case #82CW425. application of the City
of Morrison for water rights in Bear Creek Reservoir. which
average evaporation rates will be used for all three hydrologic
cycles:

January .2 in .017 ft
February . 6 in .050 ft
March 1.5 in .125 ft
April 2.2 in .183 ft
May 3.0 in .250 ft
June 5.5 in .458 ft
July 6.0 in .500 ft
August 5.0 in .417 ft
September 3.0 in .250 ft
October 2.0 in .167 ft
November .6 in .050 ft
December .4 in .033 ft
30 inches 2.5 feet

[It is realized that the evaporation rates at Bear Creek
may vary significantly. However. we suggest that these
evaporation rates be used unless someone has more appropriate
numbers. ]

Evaporation Loss Makeup

The entities requesting storage accounts in Bear Creek
Reservoir will be required to provide 50 percent of the
evaporation losses on the permanent pool. with the State of
Colorado providing for the remaining 50 percent of the
evaporation losses. In addition. each entity will be assessed

-5-
