<br />. <br /> <br />tv <br />fv <br />W <br />*'" <br /> <br />ABSTRACT <br /> <br />Salinity Project Objective <br /> <br />The goal of the Colorado River Salinity Program <br />is to reduce the salt loading from over irrigation <br />in the Montezuma Valley. <br /> <br />Hydro-Salinity Monitoring and <br />Evaluation: <br /> <br />The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team <br />monitored 242 irrigated acres. The average <br />irrigation efficiency was 70 percenl for the <br />sprinklers <br /> <br />Wildlife Habitat Monitoring and <br /> <br />Evaluation: <br /> <br />The monilored sites generally indicate a <br />decreasing Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) values <br />due to effects of improved irrigation water <br />management and practices on artificial wetlands. <br />Changes in habitat values are not solely the result <br />of the salinity control program. <br /> <br />Economics Monitoring and <br /> <br />Evaluation: <br /> <br />In general, the labor required for irrigation <br />decreased and the yields increased.
