The EA
addresses environmental impacts that may occur if releases from Navajo Reservoir into the San Juan
River are lowered to 250 cubic feet per second (cfs) during the test period. The purpose of the test is to
gather information to analyze effects of longer term operations that may reduce releases to 250 cfs. The
test is proposed for late June or early July when the Animas River inflows will supplement San Juan
River flows below Farmington, New Mexico.

Your comments will help us address all concerns before we finalize the EA. To be considered in our
decision-making process, your comments should be submitted by Monday, April 30, 2001, to:

Mr. Ken Beck
Bureau of Reclamation
Western Colorado Area Office
835 East Second Avenue, Suite 300
Durango, CO 81301
Fax No. 970-385-6539

If you have any questions, please call Ken at 970-385-6580.

Sincerely

~~~
Carol DeAngelis
Area Manager
Enclosure
