If supplies are
uaed from either of these sources, transfer from irrigation supplies would not be
necesaary. Other aources of supply are surface water from Conchas Reservoir or
groundwater presently used for irrigation, Uses (other than irrigation) of these
supplies would require transfer of irrigation rights because of prior appropriation
for uses in agriculture.

Ol-Al (1975-1985, 1985-2000)

Projected demands for the city of Tucumcari might be met from alternate sources
as follows: 1) construction of many widely-spaced wells of low capacity producing
from the Entrada Sandstone; 2) water from Ute Reservoir; 3) water from Conchas
Reservoir and retirement of irrigation water rights.

01-C2 (1975-1985. 1985-2000)

Projected demands for mineral requirements might be met by; 1) groundwater
supplies outside the irrigated areas; 2) water from Ute Reservoir; 3) retirement
of irrigation (surface or ground).

01-Bl (1975-1985, 1985-2000)

In the House area of Quay County, ground-water mining has lowered water levels
and pumping for irrigation is becoming uneconomical. About 3,800 acres are estimated
to be out of production by 2000.

40-A1 (1975-1985, 1985-2000)

Flood damage from surface water runoff occurs in the city of Tucumcari and
in rural communities.

42-B1 (1975-1985, 1985-2000)

Headcutting and sheet erosion destroys cropland and rangeland throughout the
ares.

60-Al-B1-C2 (1975-1985. 1985-2000)

Financing is required for project planning and development.

313
