<br />The potential wilderness study areas within the Special Project Area <br />boundaries are now being incorporated in the statewide wilderness <br />inventory effort and should be reviewed along with all other inventory <br />units. <br /> <br />Inventory Units Less Than 5,000 Acres <br /> <br />A number of the inventory units recommended for intensive wilderness <br />inventory are less than 5,000 acres. When this situation exists, it is <br />because the unit is contiguous to Federal lands administered by either <br />the National Park Service, USDI or Forest Service, USDA, which have <br />either been designated by Congress as a "Wilderness Area" or have been <br />endorsed by the Administration as a potential addition to the National <br />Wilderness Preservation System. The sma11er BLM administered units are <br />being evaluated as possible additions to the existing or proposed wilder- <br />ness areas administered by these other Federal agencies. <br /> <br />BLM Inventory Units In C010rado Which Are Contiguous to BLM Inventory Units <br />In Utah <br /> <br />In some cases units of land administered by BLM cross State lines. When <br />this situation exists (as in Colorado and Utah) the presence of a conti- <br />guous inventory unit recommended for intensive wilderness inventory in <br />Utah was indicated by an arrow. <br /> <br />- 2 - <br />
