<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />000641 <br /> <br />USERS GUIDE <br /> <br />This report is organized such that the reader can first turn to a description <br />of each federal agency's programs followed by a summary of water and related land <br />resource programs within the Missouri River Basin. <br /> <br />The next series of tables presents the water and related land resources planning <br />activities and funding of the Missouri River Basin Commission. the Old West <br />Regional Commission and the National Commission on Water Quality, <br /> <br />The summaries of the planning and construction funding for state and local <br />programs. federal agency ongoing programs and federal agency new start or resumption <br />programs are included next to provide the reader with a general understanding of the <br />funding for water and related land resources by state and federal agency within the <br />Missouri region, <br /> <br />The reader will find: 1) a summary of the funding for state and local planning <br />and construction. followed by specific state and local program activities and their <br />funding; 2) a summary of the funding for federal agency ongoing planning and <br />construction programs. followed by specific federal agency ongoing programs and <br />their funding; and 3) a summary of the funding for federal agency new start or <br />resumption programs. followed by the specific federal agency new start or resumption <br />programs and their funding. <br /> <br />The summary tables are only included to provide a generalized summation of the <br />funding levels and do not necessarily represent the true total of the funding for <br />each specific program listed in the report. For certain programs the reported funding <br />was not separable by fiscal year or it was included with other activities or included <br />under another state's or federal agency's programs. <br /> <br />To obtain a true portrait of the program funding which was reported by the state <br />and federal agencies and included in this report. one must study the tables which <br />list the individual programs by state and federal agency. <br /> <br />Footnotes are listed at the end of each table. not at the bottom of the page <br />where the footnote appears. <br /> <br />The uniform study designation for the program activities listed in this report <br />are as follows: <br /> <br />A = Framework Studies: General appraisal of overall water and related land <br />resources development needs. <br /> <br />B = Regional or River Basin Plans: Identification of alternatives; use and <br />impact studies; economic and environmental evaluations, <br /> <br />C = Implementation Studies: Feasibility level with financial plan. <br /> <br />D = Basic Data Collection and Analysis <br /> <br />E = Planning Related Research <br /> <br />F or Construction = Implementation (Structural and Non-Structural Projects <br />or Programs) <br /> <br />ix <br />
