<br />OGJ115 <br /> <br />MASTER PLAN POLICY <br /> <br />FOR HISTORICAL AREAS OF THE <br />NA T10NAL PARK SYSTEM (REVISED 1970) <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The National Park Service prepares and maintains a Master Plan for <br />the management, development, and use of each historical area. <br />Graphics. inventories, and narrative statements describe and portray <br />the area's resources and specify the objectives of management. <br /> <br />A historical base map and/or archeological base map is a necessary <br />part of the Master Plan for a historical area. Moreover, it is a <br />valuable document in the management of the area. The historical <br />or archeological base map rests on comprehensive research and is <br />thoroughly documented. <br /> <br />4 <br />
