A total of 17 fISh including nine northern pike, seven flannelmouth suckers
and one roundtail chub were radiotagged during the study (Table 10). Twelve of these fish were
captured, tagged and released in a one mile reach below the diversion structure and five were
captured, tagged and released in a similar reach upstream of the diversion. All fish appeared in good
condition at the time of release and no confirmed mortalities related to implant procedures were
documented during the study.

Three radiotagged northern pike were recaptured and taken by anglers during the study. All
three fish were recaptured within one to 20 days following implant and release. Two of the radiotags
were recovered by BIO/WEST and one was used to implant an additional northern pike.

Movement of Radiota~~ed Fish. Only four radio tagged northern pike were tracked successfully
for the duration of the study (Table 11). Of these fISh, two that were implanted during Trip 2 moved
upstream over the diversion structure during the time period between June 12 (Trip 2) and August
3 (Trip 3) during flows ranging from 268 to 1680 cfs. A third radiotagged pike moved downstream
over the structure the day after it was implanted and then moved upstream over the structure during
the same time period as the two pike described earlier. All three of the pike that ascended the
structure moved distances ranging from approximately 10 to 20 miles upstream where they resided

16
