Source code and data version control <br />systems assist with QA and QC needs by tracking all changes to code and data. In addition, a <br />formal "bug tracking" system is necessary to support the systematic finding and removal of <br />software errors. <br /> <br />Linkages With Other Tasks <br /> <br />The functional specification developed in Task 9 will be a starting point for this task. <br />Data and information developed in Tasks 4-8 are also critical to the proper completion of this <br />task. The modeling and analytical tools developed in this task will be used in the yield and <br />operation analysis (Task II), the identification of facility needs for Task 12 and the <br />environmental impact assessment (Task 13). <br /> <br />Likely Sources of Information To Be Used <br /> <br />Memos from previous tasks 4-9 will be important to this task. In addition, Denver data <br />and information relating to its on-going modeling effort will be most useful. <br /> <br />Anticipated Problems <br /> <br />The accuracy of all properly functioning computer models can be traced to two sources: <br />(I) the input data and (2) the assumptions used in the model. By using hydrology data <br />developed by Denver and the other entities participating in the TSC, the data issues should be <br />limited. Because assumptions tend to be more controversial with refinements and evolution <br />taking place over time it will be necessary for the modeling team to take "snapshots" of <br />modeled scenarios so that exact inputs and outputs can be duplicated at a later time if necessary <br />for documentation purposes. Such snapshots will include not only data but code as well. It <br />will also be necessary to include the capacity to evaluate the impl ication of various <br />assumptions . <br /> <br />Deliverables <br /> <br />The deliverable will consist of a working modeling tool with a modest level of <br />documentation. It is anticipated that the model application will be available to the TSC and the <br />public. What user interface work is performed will be directed towards ease of changing input <br />data and ease of inspection of output data. <br /> <br />Cost <br /> <br />The initially estimated budget for this task is $50,000. <br /> <br />Yield and Operation Analyses <br />Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of this task is to explore the yield and operational implications of the <br />system integration water supply options previously identified and any additional ideas which <br />may arise during the duration of this task. <br />
