002453

TABLE 1
PROCEDURE TO ESTIMATE DEPLETIONS AND DIVERSIONS

Code Structure TvOe of Use Procedure used to Estimate Diversions and Deoletions
(1\ T2\ (3)- (4)
Aug All Augmentation Diversions and depletions are estimated at 0.44 ac-ft which is the value
estimated by the Division 4 Engineer for augmentation water rights without any
other information,
CB Ditch Camp Bird Ditch The first 0.15 cfs of diversions are for irrigation, The next 2.5 cfs are for
recreation and the remainder are undecreed diversions, The DWR. estimated 34
acres are irrigated at this strudure so it is estimated that 40% of the irrigation
diversions are consumed,
CI Non- Commercial and Diversions and depletions are estimated at 0.44 ac-ft which is the value
Reservoir Industrial estimated by the Division 4 Engineer for commercial and industrial water rights
w~hout any other infonnation. The 0.44 ac.ft is the total use for a water right
w~h onty commercial use, only industrial use, or commercial use and industrial
use,
Do Well and Domestic No DWR records are available for these water rights, Indoor domestic water
Springs use is estimated to be 100 gallons/day/person with an average of 3,5 people per
household which results in a diversion rate of 3.5x1 00x365/(7.48x43,560)=0.392
ac.tt The associated depletions are estimated to be 10% of the diversions or
0.1QxQ.392=0.039 ae-ft. The indoor diversion and depletion rates were spedfied
by Mr, Wayne Schieldt, Division 4. Engineer. The outdoor water use is estimated
using a lawn area of 2,000 square feet and a crop irrigation requirement for
bluegrass in the Upper Gunnison Basin of 1,72 feet. Using an irrigation
efficiency of 75% results in a diverison amount of
1.72x2,OOO/(4356OxO,75)=Q,105 ae-ft. Using a spray loss of 5% results in a
consumptive use of outdoor diversions of 0.105x(O,75+0.05)=0.084 ae-ft. The
total indoor and outdoor diversions are 0.392+0,105=0.50 ae-ft (rounded to
nearest 1/100th acre-foot). The total indoor and outdoor depletions are
0.039+0,084=0.12 ae-ft (rounded to the nearest 1/100th acre-fooH.
0.1 All All Diversions records from DWR HYDROBASE. Structures have only water rights
junior to Aspinall Un~ rightS. Diversions pro-rated between water rights based
on decreed amounts, Structures induded in the DWR StaleCU program are not
Included in this catenorv.
0.2 All All Diversions records from DWR HYDROBASE. Structures have only water rights
junior to Aspinall Unit rights except that diversions exceed decreed amounts.
Diversions prorated between junior water rights based on priority. Diversions
limited to amount decreed to junior water rights. Structures included in the
D\NR StateCU nrnnram are not included in this catenorv,
0.3 All All Diversions records from DWR HYDROBASE. Structures that have rights junior
and senior to the Aspinall Unit rights. Diversions were first allocated to senior
water rights and then remainder was pro-rated to junior water rights based on
decreed amounts. Structures induded in the DWR StateCU program are not
included in this cateaorv,
0.4 All All Diversions records from DWR HYDROBASE infrequent monitored water
diversion report, Based on available monthly records; all diversions were
estimated to be made by the water rights at the structure that are senior to the
Asninall Unit riahts.
Dv5 All All Diversions records from DWR HYDROBASE infrequent monitored water
diversion report.
