The
City's concern focuses on the Proposed Stream Classifications
and Water Quality Standards, page 11, Regions 2 and 3, Basin:
Boulder Creek, Stream Segment Description: No.7, Mainstem of
Coal Creek from Highway 93 to the confluence with Boulder Creek.
It is our understanding that this segment will be considered
at the second South Platte hearing on July 21, 1980. The City
offers the following alternate proposed regulation concerning
that segment:

1. The present proposal for this segment of Coal Creek
is Recreation Class 2, Class 1 Warm Water Aquatic Life, Water
Supply, and Agriculture. The City proposes that the Class I-Warm
Water Aquatic Life classification be changed to Class 2-Warm
Water Aquatic Life.

2. Presently, under inorganic numerical standards, ammonia
(NH3) is proposed at a 0.06 mg/l unionized level. Due to a scar-
city of data, the City requests that a status quo ammonia number
be set for this stream segment.
