Ten percent ot normal furrow irriga-
tion was used under drip irrigation. No deep
percolation or tailwater runoff occurred which

CONCLUSION

The incentive cost-share programs demon-
strated that producers will address their water
quality issues. Information and demonstra-
tions on how to address these issues were
critical for new technology acceptance. The
West Otero SCD 201 Project was the informa-
tion vehicle. The information programs initi-
ated under this program not only transferred
technology to farm producers but also demon-
strated to all Coloradans what the rural area is
doing to clean up water bodies. Understand-
ing and trust between city and country is es-
sential for long-term programs to work forthe
benefit of all Colorado residents.
