The <br /> <br />studies on which both reports are based w,," e unaertaken by the University <br /> <br />of Wisconsin's Center fof- Resource Policy Studies, School of Natural <br /> <br />Resources, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, in joint cooperation <br /> <br />with the Water Resources Council, the Corps of Engineers, of the Department <br /> <br />of Army, the Soil Conservation Service of the Department of Agriculture, <br /> <br />the Department of Housing and Urban Development,the United States Geological <br /> <br />Survey of the Department of the Interior and the Tennessee Valley Authority. <br /> <br />The earlier report, which explores selected issues in regulation of <br /> <br />private and public land uses as a tool of flood plain management, focussed <br /> <br />primarily on basic-regulatory issues and riverine flood problems. It was <br /> <br />revised as a r",sult of the review process and is expected to be available in <br /> <br />. - - '. - <br />- . " <br />ftn:atforrnlate<inthesUJ;ri.mero{ J97LIt is being published as Volume One <br /> <br />(divided into Parts I through IV) of what will be a two Volume report. <br /> <br />This review draft, which will become Volume Two of the final report, <br /> <br />explores in more detail techniques of regulating subdivision of lands in flood <br /> <br />hazard areas (Part V) and regulating coastal flood hazard areas (Part VI). <br /> <br />It builds, with only minor repetition, upon the earlier report and contains <br /> <br />additional draft statutes and ordinances dealing specifically with subdivision <br /> <br />regulation and coastal flood hazard areas. <br /> <br />i <br />
