CHAPTER II - CURRENT CONDITIONS

114:

WATER SUPPLY

"

The reservoir operation study for the period 1941-1977 results in an
average annual project water supply at Narrows Dam of 130,200 acre-feet,

.

incl uding 3D,700 acre-feet of Weldon Valley Ditch direct-flow right
assumed to be acqui red by the Narrows Un it, and 99,500 acre-feet of
average annual yield. During the 37-year study period, the project
water supply at the dam ranged from a low of 19,500 acre-feet in 1955
to a high of 257,600 acre-feet in 1976. Monthly average project water
releases will range from 4,200 acre-feet to 26,700 acre-feet for the
April through October period. Project water will be regulated at

Narrows Dam.

Project water for benefit and payment capacity analyses computations
differ, as shown in the following tabulajion:

Benefit analysis Payment capacity analysis
(acre-feet)

Reservoir yield

99,500
o
23,900

99,500
30,700
o

Weldon Valley Ditch rights

Return flow

Tot a 1 s

123,400

130,200

No benefits are claimed for the acquired Weldon Valley rights since

there will be no net increase in agricultural production to the Nation.

The Weldon Valley water is currently used to irrigate lands in the

3
