WATER RIGHT - West Pueblo Ditch (Pueblo County) <br /> <br />CASE NUMBER - 90CW55 (Water Division 2) <br /> <br />TOTAL ACRES - 328 <br /> <br />MOVED - Approximately 5 shares changed to diversion by wells; Pueblo Board of Water Works <br />obtained 486 of 500 total shares and traded transmountain water to the Colorado Department of <br />Corrections for use at prisons at Buena Vista, Canon City, and Ordway for 186 shares, <br /> <br />% MOVED - 100% <br /> <br />ACREAGE DRIED UP TO DATE - 328 acres (100%) except for lands at the State Hospital <br />Honor Farm. <br /> <br />FROM - Irrigators and the State of Colorado <br /> <br />TO - Pueblo Board of Water Works <br /> <br />DATE - Began purchasing in 1978, completed purchase 1992; application 1990, no decree <br /> <br />yet, <br /> <br />PRICE - Began at $2,300 share in 1978, approximate highest amount paid $2800 share in <br />1992. One share represeJ:\ts 3.2 ac. ft. gross diversion, and 1.22 ac ft consumptive use. No <br />consumptive use deterinination yet. <br /> <br />DECREED TERMS AND CONDITIONS -none yet <br /> <br />AGRICULTURAL IMPACfS - Loss of 328 acres of agricultural production. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC IMP ACfS - Similar to that of the Bessemer, but on a more limited scale. <br /> <br />SOCIAL IMPACfS - Limited when compared to the Bessemer Ditch because the growth in <br />the area tends to be for green belts and recreational uses. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACfS - The environmental damage from agricultural operations has <br />been replaced by green belts and potential recreational uses.
