I;. canal from Rifle Gap <br /> <br />Reservoir at elevation 5,900, the level of the present Davie <br /> <br />Ditch at the Gap, would command ~,900 acres of the Silt <br /> <br />Project. Total length of the canal would be 12 miles, the <br /> <br />first 4 miles of which would be an enlargement of the Davie <br /> <br />Ditch with a capacity of 24 second-feet and 16 second-feet <br /> <br />the remaining distance. <br /> <br />studies show the t v,~i th the ditch referred to above and <br /> <br />the 2,000 acre-feet of storage capacity at Rifle Gap Reservoir <br /> <br />no~ tentatively allocated to the Rifle Valley Can&ls, the <br /> <br />demand of the entire Silt Project, 6,700 acres, could be met. <br /> <br />Average supply for the 10-year period 1930-39 would be 90 <br /> <br />percent, practically the same as sho~~ for the 6,000 acre <br /> <br />project in Table 10. These supply studies also indicate <br /> <br />insufficient water in dry years to increase the supply for the <br /> <br />78 <br />
