"'1'
~
00
".]

above the station s changed as did also the number of ditches divert-

ing above the different stations. There is no record available of

the diversions of these ditches at that time.

The Terrell Ranch station is the nearest point above the

p reject canals where a gage reader was available. Fran this point

to the Highline headgate, inflow from 23 squ~re miles of drainage

area including Brooks Creek, arcs to the project supply. This

station is below all diversi ons frem other drainage areas to West

Divide Creek.

The record on Willow Creek was taken with a recording

gage located about one-half mile below the site of the Haystack

Reservoir and includes the flow of all br~ches of Willow Creek which

are all to be diverted continuously into the reservoir, by channel

changes.

The record at the Terrell Ranch for a portion of 1937 and

on Willow Creek for portions of 193.5, 1936 and 1937 are felt to be

reliable. The water cornrrissioners' records of diversions are

probably a quite accurate picture of the total stream and return

flow available far diversion at the several headgates, after the '

peak of the flood. To some extent also they are an indication of

water supply miring the flood season.

Table .5 combines all the record for West Divide and Willow

Creeks. The record of early years shows some confusion as to loca-

tion of the stations. There is no positive infornation about the

area under irrigation by the various ditches in these years.

37
