<br />000193 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />PART III: GRANT-IN-AID INFORMATION <br /> <br />1. Initiation of process. <br /> <br />a. In order to simplify the transmittal of information to State <br />Governments on grants-in-aid made in the various States as required by <br />section 201 of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act of 1968, the <br />Director of the Bureau of the Budget has requested the Governor of each <br />State, in consultation with the State legislature, to: <br /> <br />(1) Designate to the Bureau an agency of the State (which may <br />be the State planning and development clearinghouse or such other agency <br />as may be deemed appropriate) to serve as a central point for the recep- <br />tion of grant-in-aid information from Federal agencies; and <br /> <br />(2) Specify those Federal grant-in-aid programs on which infor- <br />mation will be required. <br /> <br />b. The Bureau of the Budget will maintain and distribute to Federal <br />agencies administering grant-in-aid programs, a directory of State <br />central information reception agencies. <br /> <br />2. State central information reception agencies. The State agency desig- <br />nated as the central reception point for Federal grant-in-aid information <br />will be responsible for: <br /> <br />a. Distributing to the Governor, to the State legislature, and to <br />such other agencies of the State as the Governor may designate grant-in- <br />aid information provided by Federal agencies under this Part. <br /> <br />b. Assuring that such grant-in-aid information is made available to <br />regional and metropolitan agencies and to local governments of the State. <br /> <br />3. Responsibilities of Federal agencies. <br /> <br />a. Any Federal agency administering a grant-in-aid program will <br />transmit to the State central information reception agency, within <br />seven days of formal notice of a grant award, a notification of the <br />award. A standard form is being prepared for such notifications. <br />Agencies will be notified when it is available. In the interim, the <br />following information will be transmitted to State central reception <br />agencies: <br /> <br />(1) Date of award <br /> <br />(2) Identity of grantee (name, address, organization, etc.) <br /> <br />(3) Federal agency making grant <br /> <br />(No. A-95) <br />
