Sediment Study

Lower Arkansas River

Las Animas, Colorado-Coolidge, Kansas

Water will be released from John Martin Reservoir beginning 8:00 a.m.

on April I, 1976. Two hundred and fifty cfs will be released at 8:00 a.m.;

500 cfs at 9:00 a.m.; 750 cfs at 10:00 a.m.; and 1,000 cfs at 11:00

a.m. This will give time to make discharge measurements and collect

sediment samples at each of the downstream sites.

Each measurement will consist of a current meter measurement (until

the rating for the sites have been definee!), the temperature and conductivity,

and an ETR sediment sample.

Bottles will be properly labeled and sent to the Denver office by

April 20, 1976.

The following schedule will ~e followed by the individuals

indicated during the release from John Martin Reservoir.
